Dr Kostadinka Skandeva
Dr. Maryam Cheema is a Virginia native. She began her academic journey at George Mason University where she obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Neuroscience. Following her undergraduate education, she discovered her passion for podiatric medicine and decided that it would be a future career path for her.
She continued her education at Kent State University in Cleveland, OH where she obtained her degree in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. After completing podiatry school she returned to Virginia for residency at the Salem Veteran Affairs Medical Center, where she trained in various podiatric surgeries, procedures, and pathologies, including limb salvage, wound care, diabetic foot care, and various foot and ankle injuries.
She completed her residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with an added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery and returned to the Northern Virginia area to practice. Dr. Cheema is a board-certified podiatrist who treats a wide range of foot conditions and is dedicated to helping you get back on your feet.
In her spare time, she loves to try new cuisines, cook, and travel and explore new places and cultures with her husband.
